Newley: The Singer & His Songs

Devised by the company and performed by David Boyle. Directed by Jeremy Stockwell.

Edinburgh festival premiere 2007. Not currently available for touring - please make any enquiries direct via the show Web site, as linked below.

This brilliant solo show explores the character and career of Anthony Newley, much-missed star of stage and screen. With just a piano for accompaniment, David Boyle reminds us of some brilliant Newley numbers with the help of his pianist.

Together Newley & Boyle wrestle their demons – and sometimes each other – to share a laugh, compare notes, and belt out a few fantastically memorable tunes, including favourites such as ‘Pop Goes The Weasel’, ‘The Candyman’ and ‘What Kind Of Fool Am I?’.

‘The most original one-man show I’ve seen. Touching, warm and funny – a must-see for Anthony Newley fans and anyone who is new to this great entertainer. Boyle is a star in the making – his performance is truly uncanny.’ London Lite
